Welcome to my online portfolio

Vision
As a librarian, my role is to connect people with the information and skills that they need to be successful and fully enjoy life. I focus on three core areas: traditional reference service, library and technology instruction, and enhancing library programs and services with appropriate technology.
Skills
I have developed a broad range of skills from my work experience in libraries and other nonprofit organizations, from small branch libraries to large research institutions. Communication skills are critical in working with patrons to provide the best service possible; co-worker evaluations have noted that "[he] has a great service-oriented attitude, handling even our more difficult patrons with tact and grace."
I have honed my research skills providing virtual and in person reference service across all fields in a diverse university environment that included students, faculty, and the public. My teaching experience ranges from bibliographic instruction classes for international graduate students to one-on-one public library instruction in accessing and understanding the internet.
In addition to my work experience, I have completed coursework in such key areas as Reference and Information Services, Community Engagement, Administration and Management, and Collection Development.
